In Silent Keys, I wanted to explore the quiet space between thought and action—the moment when emotion lingers just beneath the surface. The figure leans over the piano, suspended in contemplation, as though listening for a melody that exists only in memory. The dramatic contrast of light and shadow reveals both strength and vulnerability, inviting the viewer into an intensely personal moment.

Working in pastel allowed me to build rich layers of warm flesh tones against the deep, atmospheric darkness surrounding the figure. The expressive brush-like marks and softened edges create a sense of movement and emotion, while the piano serves as both a physical object and a metaphor for reflection, creativity, and longing.
